Our District

Our new city council

We voted to change the Portland charter in 2022. Portland now has 4 districts, and 3 council members will be elected in each. Ranked choice voting will let us choose up to 6 candidates you believe in to represent our district.

Your vote is important, and our new proportional representation system will mean more people have a district councilor who they supported in the election. If your first choice candidate has too few votes to win, your vote will be transferred to your second choice. If your first choice wins outright your vote still counts! Check out the city's page on how the new system works.

Our new district

The district map was finalized in August of 2023. Roughly speaking it divides Portland into East Portland, North/NE Portland, Westside Portland and District 3 - the delicious nougaty center. Check your address at https://www.portlandmaps.com/ to find out which district you're in.
